Delhi Confidential: In Attendance

The last G20 culture working group meeting, held in Karnataka’s Hampi in July, didn’t have any of the three culture ministers — Union Minister G Kishan Reddy; ministers of state Arjun Ram Meghwal and Meenakshi Lekhi — in attendance. It was steered by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, an MP from Karnataka’s Dharwad. However, the final meeting in Varanasi had all the three ministers present for the proceedings.

PM’s Gift

During his visit to Greece, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted a ‘Meghalaya Shawl’ to the spouse of Greece PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Meghalaya shawls have a rich history dating back centuries. A source said the shawls, with intricate designs and vibrant coloursm were originally woven for Khasi and Jaintia royalty, who considered them a symbol of wealth, power and status.
