The Hubballi Rural police said the couple, who lived in the same village in Dharwad, got married in May this year. The woman’s family was against their marriage.

Dingaleshwara said that he was not extending support to any party, adding that he would “continue to wage dharma yuddha (crusade) against injustice in the constituency.”
