The National Defence Academy on Tuesday held the convocation for the 122nd course where the commandants silver medal and the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) trophy for the cadet standing first in science was given to Battalion Cadet Adjutant Sahil Kerni while the commandants silver medal and Chief of the Air Staff trophy for the cadet standing first in social science was awarded to Battalion Cadet Captain Amodh Serrao.

Not two, but eight columns of army were in Pathankot: Army Chief

New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): Army Chief General Dalbir Singh on Wednesday said that there were some media reports that only two columns of the army were deployed in Pathankot area which was wrong, as there were eight Army teams which were deployed. He also said that he had given three directions to commander; security of assets, containment of the contact and maintenance of a strong cordon. He further stated that National Security Guard (NSG) is the best force to deal with hostage situation and that is why one team was deployed to handle the Pathankot issue.

Induction of modern military equipment to fastrack technological progress: Army Chief

New Delhi, Jan 13 (ANI): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Dalbir Singh said that large number of measures had been taken to expedite induction of modern military equipment. He stated that the army had taken efforts to fastrack technological progress and hence a new Army design bureau is being set up. He further added that the Indian Army is highly efficient and it would take all endeavours to protect the citizens of the country.
