According to the police complaint lodged by Sharma, he received threat calls on Sunday late night on his mobile phone from Santosh Rai, a henchman of Tripathi, who is serving life sentence in the 2003 murder case of poetess Madhumita Shukla.

UP Legislative Council chairman Ganesh Shankar Pandey on Tuesday directed the state government to conduct a high-level inquiry into an incident of Aligarh where Samajwadi Party MLA Bhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit allegedly assaulted some Urdu teachers and misbehaved with them.
