ABOUT Amrita Singh

Amrita Singh is one of the most lovable actresses of the Hindi television and film industry. She made her Bollywood debut back in 1983 with Betaab which became a big box office hit. This was her pathway to success as she got a chance to star in series of successful movies like Sunny, Mard, Saheb and Khudgarz all in the 1980s. She was paired with the leading actors in Bollywood like Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt to name a few. She took a break from the entertainment industry in 1993 to give time to her family but made a successful comeback in the film 23rd March 1931: Shaheed. Later, the Punjabi actress had her name roped in the television industry with Ekta Kapoor's Kavyanjali on Star Plus in 2005. She started getting critically acclaimed for a series of her negative roles in the show and later in 2005 hit Kalyug. She recently made news when she walked out of Anees Bazmee's Mubarakan and was replaced by Ratna Pathak Shah to play the role of Arjun Kapoor's mother.
