Pilot, actor Thakur Anoop Singh wins gold at World Bodybuilding Championships

Thakur Anoop Singh won the gold medal at the seventh WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships in Bangkok.

It is a rare case when a TV star turns to other professions, say something like body building. But Thakur Anoop Singh has not only made that move but has proved to be the best in it. At the recently held seventh WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships in Bangkok, Anoop won the gold medal for India in the ‘physique fitness’ category.

It is not the first time that Anoop had made a change from one profession to the other.

Back in 2008 when the world was hit by recession, Anoop was forced to leave his job as a pilot and that is when he turned to small screen.

In the Mahabharata series that began in 2011, Anoop plays the role of Drithrashtra and thanks to the character, Anoop has his twitter handle named after him.

Finishing third at the Mr. Asia earlier this year, he was the crowd favourite at the Bangkok event. Even before he had left for the event, Anoop had said that he was bringing nothing else than a gold for the country.

Not only India, the winner also won the hearts of the Thai crowd in Bangkok.
