Niranjan Jyoti again: ‘Hindu women should not marry outside community’

Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said on Sunday that Hindu women should never marry men from other communities as that would weaken “Hindu nari shakti”.

The Minister of State for Food Processing was speaking after she took part in the Jayanthi celebrations of Sree Narayana Guru, organised by Sree Narayanan Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDPY) in Alappuzha.

Jyoti said that the recently released religion Census data was “disturbing and would destroy the equilibrium of the country”. Everyone should think about what could be done in this regard, she added.

The minister said there was no political motive behind her meeting with SNDPY general secretary and prominent Hindu Ezhava leader Vellappally Nateshan.

In December last year, she had landed in a controversy after she told Delhi voters to choose between “Ramzadon” and “haramzadon”.
