A special court in Mumbai Tuesday allowed an intervention by the father of a 2008 Malegaon blast victim in the bail application filed by Lieutenant-Colonel Prasad Purohit.
Malegaon resident Nisar Bilal (64), who lost his son in the attack on September 29, 2008, sought to be heard in the bail case of Purohit.
After the National Investigation Agency filed its chargesheet in the case on May 13, Purohit had filed for bail. The intervention plea stated that Purohit had ‘actively participated in the execution of the conspiracy’, seeking for the plea to be rejected.
Special Judge S D Tekale allowed the plea, the arguments for which will commence on Wednesday by advocate Sharif Sheikh appearing for Bilal.
