SC Justice Ranjan Gogoi, who was earlier named chairman of the panel, had recused himself, official sources revealed here Thursday. Justice Gogoi was assigned the task following the retirement of Justice Vikramjit Sen on December 31.

The MPs, including Digvijaya Singh (Congress), Sitaram Yechury (CPM), Derek O’Brien (TMC) and Ram Gopal Yadav (Samajwadi Party), had submitted a motion in April last year for initiating impeachment proceedings against Justice Gangele for alleged sexual harassment of a woman judge in Gwalior.
