Two Indian soldiers were killed in firing by Pakistan on the Line of Control in Gurez sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, Defence spokesperson said here.
The spokesperson, however, didn’t elaborate whether Pakistan army used small firearms or heavy weapons to attack on the Indian posts.
“A befitting reply was given by the army to the enemy,” the spokesman said. “The Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by opening firing at 12.30 pm which lasted till 2.00 pm,” an army spokesman said here.

Sources said that the two soldiers of the Territorial Army were killed near Izmerg, and one of them is a resident of Gurez.
The ceasefire violation comes five days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled to visit to Jammu and Kashmir on November 7.
