Alleging that “government terrorism” forced Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula to commit suicide, BSP chief Mayawati said on Wednesday that “securing justice for the Dalit community is becoming increasingly difficult”.
Condemning the behaviour of “two senior ministers of the Narendra Modi government” towards Vemula, she said: “This behaviour that if you are against policies of the BJP government, then you are our enemy and you would be tortured through government terrorism is condemnable and non-democratic.”

Contending that atrocities against certain communities have increased after the Modi came to power, Mawayati said this government has “tolerated and encouraged” such offenders. She said that it has become clear that BJP’s “mentality towards Dalits, backwards and Muslims is cruel, casteist and inhuman”.
The BSP has send a five-member delegation to Hyderabad.
