Duchess Kate Middleton ‘loving it all’ on maiden visit to India

Kate Middleton, who was casually chatting with the Indian community and the diplomatic fraternity in the Capital, had a brief chat with The Indian Express, as she walked on the lawns of the British Commissioner’s residence.

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is “loving it all” in her maiden India visit. “People are so friendly, met lovely children yesterday, we are loving it all, and I am looking forward to go back with some wonderful memories,” she told The Indian Express Monday, in her first comments in Delhi.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, arrived in New Delhi Monday, after a day-and-a-half in Mumbai. Prince William, who also walked along the rope line with his wife, later said about the Queen, “She might be the grandmother, but she is the boss.”

Speaking admiringly about Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, he said his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte were “lucky” to have her as their great grandmother and she will remain a role model for them for life.

“This is the first time Catherine and I have been to India and we have been incredibly impressed to see just how much this great country is on the move, and how India’s dynamism is matched by the warmth and welcome of its diverse people,” said Prince William.

A message of the Queen was also read out at the reception, hosted in honour of the visiting royal couple by British High Commissioner Dominic Asquith. Politicians, diplomats and socialites, among others, were at the event.
