Dadri killing: Rahul Gandhi joins queue of politicians visiting Bisara village
Congress has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his "silence" and condemn the Dadri lynching incident.

The village of Bisara, where 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq was beaten to death while his 22-year-old son Danish received severe head injuries on Monday night, continued to be visited by politicians.
Hours after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met Akhlaq’s family and residents, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi also visited the family on Saturday evening.

With the village remaining tense after residents heckled journalists, forcing them to leave Bisara, Gandhi could not address mediapersons. In a series of posts of Twitter, Gandhi’s office spoke about his meeting with the family. “Met family of Mohd Akhlaq and expressed my deepest condolences. It is very sad to see the trust and harmony built over decades, destroyed by the politics of hate,” it read.
“Congress VP Rahul Gandhi in Dadri meeting Mohammad Akhlaq’s family,” tweeted the party handle, INC India.
The Congress VP also met other residents of Bisara and asked them about the incident.
“Was touched by the desire of people in Bisara to maintain harmony. This spirit will help the country go through tough times. Hatred between our people weakens India. We have to stand together and fight those who spread it,” the office said.
Earlier, the Congress had asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his “silence” on the incident and condemn it.
