Rose McGowan slams Meryl Streep over Golden Globes protest: Your silence is the problem
Harvey Weinstein whistleblower Rose McGowan has slammed actors like Meryl Streep who plan to wear black at the Golden Globes as a symbol of protest against sexual harassment in Hollywood.

Harvey Weinstein whistleblower Rose McGowan has slammed actors like Meryl Streep who plan to wear black at the Golden Globes as a symbol of protest against sexual harassment in Hollywood.
McGowan was one of the first of several women to accuse movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct. Since then, she has consistently spoken against the prevalent sexual harassment and the patriarchal culture of Hollywood. She has also extended support to other women and asked them to speak up. She has been calling women who are speaking up against alleged sexual predators “Rosearmy”.
She had called Ben Affleck a liar on Twitter and suggested that the Justice League actor knew about Weinstein’s conduct and kept silent. Last month, she met up with other Harvey Weinstein accusers and “survivors” like Asia Argento and Annabella Sciorra.
“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest,” Rose McGowan wrote on Twitter, referring to Weinstein.
“YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa,” McGowan continued, referring to the fashion line designed by Weinstein’s estranged wife, Georgina Chapman.

A few days ago, US Weekly reported that more than 30 female actors who are attending and or presenting at the 2018 Golden Globes have vowed to wear all black to this year’s ceremony.
Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been accused of sexual harassment and misconduct by more than 75 women including some prominent Hollywood female actors like Angelina, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowan and Lupita Nyong’o among others after shocking exposes carried out by The New Yorker and The New York Times
