Vidya Balan all set for partition tale ‘Begum Jaan’
Vidya Balan is all geared up to portray the character of a brothel madam in the upcoming flick Begum Jaan.

Vidya Balan is all geared up to portray the character of a brothel madam in the upcoming flick Begum Jaan.
The film is a Hindi remake of a Bengali Partition tale ‘RajKahini’ and is being directed by Srijit Mukherjee, reports the Dawn.
Produced by Mahesh Bhatt, it will highlight the repercussions of the Partition on a brothel’s women, who were displaced after the border was drawn. The original Begum Jaan was played by renowned actor Rituparno Sengupta.
The director has announced that he will begin the shoot in June.
Mukherjee said that they are on the way to remake the ‘Rajkahini’ that deals with the aftermath of Partition in Bengal. It has been titled ‘Begum Jaan’ and Vidya Balan is playing the role of Begum Jaan.
