While shooting for Kabir Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ along with co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan, Salman Khan had painted village Hatluni with film’s entire crew. Helped by a group of professional painters, the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ cast and crew painted each and every house in the village.
Previous to that Salman Khan also rolled up his sleeves and initiated a clean-up drive in Karjat.
However, Salman Khan is keen to keep the ball rolling, when it comes to the cleanliness campaign. He took to Facebook to talk about his plan to nominate 100 followers every month for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
“The Honorable Prime Minister nominated me for the Swachh Bharat campaign and I have cleaned and painted three villages in Maharashtra so far. I intend to continue with this initiative, but Swachh Bharat is not about what one of us can do. It’s about what each of us can do.
So today, on Republic Day, I am taking this campaign social. I will nominate 100 followers a month for Swachh Bharat. Please start a sustainable Swachh Bharat initiative in and around your area of work or residence or both. Upload your before and after pictures or videos. Five of the best initiatives will get special mention on my Facebook page and also win a prize each. Kya bolte ho? Shuru karein? First list will be up tomorrow,” posted Salman Khan.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by the PM on October 2, 2014.
