Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Suniel Shetty inaugurated a boating club at Gangapur Dam premises in the presence of Maharashtra Public Works Department Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and his son Sameer Bhujbal who is an NCP MP, as well as state water resources minister Suniel Tatkare.

However, nature lovers from Nashik and other parts of the state have opposed the project, since Gangpur Dam, which is also the main source of water for Nashik city is likely to get polluted due to the boating club, and also disturb the migration of various species of birds, local nature club sources said.

Gaganyaan crew module passes crucial re-entry test

ISRO successfully completed an Integrated Air Drop Test for the Gaganyaan mission, simulating the re-entry of the crew module, deployment of all parachutes, and recovery. The test was a major milestone and all parachutes worked as expected, reducing the velocity to safe levels. The crew module will be reused for other tests and the first uncrewed mission is planned for this year.
