The festive season has just begun and it’s the time of the year when the Bachchans celebrate Diwali and other festivals with glitter and glamour. But this year, Abhishek Bachchan will be missing from the festivities as he would be flying to Dubai to attend the premiere of his much awaited movie ‘Happy New Year’ on October 23 which clashes with Diwali.
One would expect wifey Aishwarya to join him at the premiere night, but the Bachchan bahu has decided to skip it. Explaining the reason why the doe-eyed beauty chose to absent herself from this big moment from her husband’s life, a source says, “The Dubai premiere clashes with Diwali on October 23. Everybody knows Diwali is celebrated with great gusto in the Bachchan household every year. It’s an open-house at the Bachchans’ residence Jalsa for Diwali each year with the entire entertainment industry dropping in through the evening and night. Abhishek cannot be at home for Diwali because he must attend the Dubai premiere of Happy New Year. Aishwarya has decided to opt out of this big moment from her husband’s life so that one of the couple could represent both at the Diwali celebration at Jalsa.”
The source goes on to say that though Aishwarya knows how important the movie is for Abhishek, Diwali is an annual occasion at the Bachchan household and either of the two has to be present at ‘Jalsa’ to bring along the festival. Aishwarya would represent Abhishek in all the ‘rasams’ and ‘pooja’.
Shah Rukh Khan is known for his unique marketing ways, hence for ‘Happy New Year’ too, he has kept the scale grand enough to ensure that the movie doesn’t fall below the standard set by himself. The whole team, which includes himself, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and Farah Khan, would be missing Diwali and attending the premiere
Here’s hoping that the team gets to celebrate Diwali once they are back and the crackers be the huge box office collections of the movie.
