Gyandev Ahuja, BJP MLA from Alwar district's Ramgarh assembly constituency, on Monday said he will prove his statement about New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and back it with evidence in a press conference "soon." The MLA has been in news for his claims regarding thousands of liquor bottles, bones and used condoms found daily on the JNU campus. Talking to the media outside the state Assembly on the first day of the 6th Assembly Session of the Vasundhara Raje government, Ahuja said, "I am among those politicians who stand by their words. Other leaders look left-right and deny what they've said or that they meant it differently, but I will only say this - I will hold a long press conference and in an organised manner will display the proof and evidence (for it)." During the assembly session, the Rajasthan Congress disrupted the Governor's address owing to Ahuja's and another party MLA's remarks against Rahul Gandhi, among other issues. On February 22, while leading a rally in Alwar, Ahuja had said that 2,000 bottles of liquor, 10,000 "pieces" (butts) of cigarettes, 4,000 "pieces" of beedis, 50,000 "big and small" pieces of bones, 2,000 polythene (wrappers) of chips as well as 3,000 used condoms are found daily on the JNU campus, where "girls and boys dance naked" in cultural programmes. "I will surely speak again on these traitors," he added. Asked how he had obtained the figures, Ahuja said that he will clarify it all at the press conference. Earlier, he had told The Indian Express that he had obtained the figures through the messaging application WhatsApp. "The war is between asur (evil) and daivyi shakti (divine power), and this will go on," he said.
