As the turmoil in the AAP continues, a UK-based volunteer, who claimed that he had donated the blue WagonR — which Arvind Kejriwal had been using — to the party last year, has demanded that the car and his donations be returned to him.

Kundan Sharma, who is currently in Delhi, said his demand that the AAP return the car and donations he made was just his way of expressing his “disillusionment”.

“I wanted to express my frustration with the party. If I had raised my concerns as a normal volunteer on social media, no one would take note,” Sharma said.

“Whatever I wrote on Twitter was just a way to catch their attention. Getting the car or the money back is not my intention. The car was transferred to the party’s name in January 2013,” he said.

Elaborating his concerns, the software engineer said, “Arvind Kejriwal had said he had accepted all demands made by Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan. This means that their demands were legitimate. People asking legitimate questions should not be thrown out.

Kejriwal preferred to be the Lokpal himself, deciding who should be inside the party and who should be outside, even sacking the Lokpal.

I joined the AAP with a dream of alternate politics. I did not want the party to accept an alternate government in Delhi instead of focusing on bringing about clean politics in the country.”

The party declined comment on the issue. However, sources in the AAP said this is not the first time a vehicle donated to the party has been demanded back.

“A Tata Nano given to Sanjay Singh by Shanti Bhushan was demanded back last week. The party has given it back,” an AAP source said.
