The bodies of two unidentified persons were found near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday evening. Police have sent the bodies for an autopsy though prima facie it seems they died of a drug overdose or exposure to the sun.
According to police, the bodies were found below the foot-over bridge near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium around 8 pm on Tuesday. “A passerby made a PCR call informing police about a foul smell emanating from the area. When police reached the spot, they recovered the bodies of two homeless youths. A syringe and a few packets of biscuits were found in their pockets,” a senior police officer said.
Police will be sending the bodies for an autopsy. The reports will ascertain the cause of death. “Prima facie it appears to be death caused by a drug overdose though it could be due to any reason like a heat stroke or a heart attack,” the police officer said.
