Punjab: 28-year-old man beaten to death in Manimajra

Police said that the deceased was attacked by iron rods and sticks.

A 28-year-old Ambala man was beaten to death by unidentified men in Manimajra area in the city on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Jasvir Singh and had come to the city to meet his sister who lives in Manimajra. On Tuesday night, when he left the home for a walk, he was attacked by a group of youths, resulting in his death.

Police said that the deceased was attacked by iron rods and sticks. ‘“He suffered serious head injuries, leading to his death on the spot,” said a police official.

“We are investigating. No arrest has been made so far,” said SHO Manimajra Hariminder Jeet Singh.

The SHO said that the deceased was a resident of Ambala and “had come to the city a few days ago for some medical treatment”.

A police official said that the deceased had been living in the city several years ago and a personal enmity with people in the area could be the reason of murder.
