The Indian Army is introducing Integrated Battle Groups (IBGs) to improve their combat capabilities in mountainous regions. These self-contained units will be led by a Major General and include over 5,000 troops from different units. The XVII Corps will be the first to implement this restructuring plan, allowing for quick deployment and better coordination in combined arms operations.
