The 2023 ODI World Cup is the 13th edition of the cricket’s showpiece tournament. This is the fourth time India is hosting the World Cup. India have won the event twice in the past, with their latest triumph coming when India last hosted the event in 2011.

One of the most lethal displays of bowling at the World Cup came from Australian speedster Glenn McGrath, who ran through the hapless batting order of Namibia at Potchefstroom in the 2003 edition of the World Cup. He bowled just seven overs, in which he claimed seven wickets while giving away 15 runs at an economy rate of 2.14. Of his seven overs, four were maidens.

His compatriot Mitchell Starc has also posted some impressive bowling figures at the Cricket World Cup. He holds the record for the most number of five-wicket hauls: three. This is besides the three times he has claimed four wickets in an innings at the World Cup. Six bowlers have managed to claim a five-wicket haul at the World Cup on two occasions.
