Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekara Rao was put on intravenous drips after doctors said he was not keeping well on the second day of his fast unto death.
The state Human Rights Commission also directed doctors to immediately give him medicines. The TRS chief was admitted to Khammam Government General Hospital on Sunday night, where he was continuing his fast for a separate Telangana state. District Collector V Usha Rani said specialists from Hyderabad examined him on Wednesday and suggested he be administered saline.
Meanwhile,TRS workers attacked the house of former Congress MP Renuka Chowdhary in Khammam city, saying she was against the Telangana cause. The drawing room and a portion of the bungalow were gutted after burning rags were thrown into the house. No one was injured. Khammam SP Anil Kumar said miscreants tried to enter the house but were prevented by neighbours.
Renuka Chowdhary has been criticising the TRS for its tactics to raise the Telangana cause. TRS is setting a poor example by targeting my house and also damaging public property. These tactics dont intimidate me, said Chowdhary, after the attack.
TRS workers also attacked the house of Jalagam Venkat Rao,former Congress MLA and son of ex-chief minister J Vengal Rao in Khammam.
