Maria, who was sentenced to three years in jail by a Mumbai court for destroying evidence in the May 2008 killing of Grover, was released from jail last month.

Her co-accused and fiance,ex-naval officer Emile Jerome Mathew was sentenced to 10 years’ jail term.

Earlier,Maria and Emile sent legal notices saying that Varma did not have right to release a film based on their life without their consent.

“I would like to see Maria’s reaction on the film on account of how close her emotional state would have been to that of Mahee Gill’s character,” added Varma.
