Community parking in Sec 19 soon

A community parking in Sector 19 and three multi-level parking lots in Sector 17 will be constructed by the Municipal Corporation. The decisions were taken at the co-ordination committee meeting of the UT Administration and MC today.

Keeping in mind the increasing number of vehicles in the city and the parking problems,community parking is expected to be a viable solution. Earlier,a plan for community parking had been approved for Sector 45 but later a site in Sector 19 was inspected and approved.

The mayor also asked the Administration to pay its pending water bills (running into a few crores). The Horticulture department alone owes Rs 2 crore to the MC.

Also,five new health centres are slated to come up in the colonies — two in Colony Number 5 and Mauli Jagran and one in Colony Number 4. Dispensaries in Ramdarbar and Dadumajra will be upgraded. A proposal for setting up a veterinary dispensary in Milk Colony,Maloya,was also discussed.
