Former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) chief Suresh Kalmadi on Thursday said that the CBI,which is probing the CWG scam, had singled out only OC officials while no government official was questioned.
Hours later, talking to CNN-IBN channel,he said Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, along with two Union Ministers, should also be summoned by the investigating agency.
Kalmadi, who was in Ranchi in connection with the National Games, said all decisions pertaining to the purchase of the CWG equipment were taken unanimously by the executive board of the the OC. This Committee comprised officials of the Union Sports Ministry,Delhi Government,Commonwealth Federations and IOA. Why were some OC officials singled out and not even one government official quizzed, he said.
When asked if he wanted the Delhi CM as well as former Sports Minister M S Gill and Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy to be summoned by the investigating agency,he told CNN-IBN: All those who were involved in organising the Games must be summoned. Why just go after the OC?
The entire process seems to be against the officials who have worked with the OC for many years. No decision related to the Games was taken alone by anyone. So I am shocked that investigative agencies are only calling the officers of the OC and that no government officers have so far been called by them, he said.
Attacking Dikshit for her statements against the OC,Kalmadi told CNN-IBN: She said that even before the investigations started that all scams are in OC. Does that mean she predetermined all this? Let her talk of what happened in her departments and dont blame us. She targeted the OC and I objected. They should look at their own house. Let her talk after the probe and not presuppose, he told the channel.
