AIADMK candidate challenges election of former DMK minister

AIADMK candidate,S.Esakki Muthu today filed a petition in Madras High Court challenging the election of former minister Thangam Thennarasu who was elected to the assembly from Thiruchuli constituency in the April 13 polls.

The petitioner alleged that Thangam Thennarasu,belonging to DMK,had misused his official powers as well as money power while campaigning during the assembly elections.

The petitioner said he had brought it to the notice of the election officials but there was no action against Thennarasu who allegedly bribed voters and distributed clothes.
