Elections are being held in 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 10 seats in Haryana, eights constituencies each in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, seven seats in Delhi and four in Jharkhand.

In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP had won 45 of these seats, the Trinamool Congress 8, the Congress two and the Samajwadi Party and the LJP one seat each. Prominent candidates in the sixth phase include senior Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, boxer Vijender Singh, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir and Atishi from AAP. In UP, the big guns who will be at the mercy of the ballot include Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, who is contesting from Azamgarh, Union Minister Maneka Gandhi from Pilibhit and Varun Gandhi from Sultanpur.
The sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections saw 63 per cent voting on Sunday, with 80 per cent voters participation in West Bengal where sporadic incidents of violence were reported. Read more here.

Haryana witnessed 63.91 per cent voter turnout till 8 pm. Gurgaon saw a voter turnout of 61.93 per cent till 8 pm. Among the nine assembly constituencies in Gurgaon Lok Sabha, the highest turnout was in Rewari at 70.56%, while Badshahpur witnessed the lowest turnout at 44%.
The Election Commission announced the overall voter turnout in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019 till 5 pm.

Over 43 per cent polling was reported till 3 pm in 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, where Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Union minister Maneka Gandhi are among the key contestants.
While Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha constituency recorded the highest turnout of 47.60 per cent, enthusiasm among voters was the least in Phulpur, where 36.80 per cent cast their ballots. (PTI)
"Only candidate or the election agent can enter the polling booth. We learnt that cabinet minister Manish Grover was also entering the booth with armed men and nobody from the administration or Election Commission has taken any action. We have appealed to the EC to register a criminal case against Manish Grover and his men on charges of booth capturing," Deepender Hooda said.
"I would like to ask EC, if any Constitution exists in this country? Why hasn't EC acted against the minister? In which capacity has the minister been allowed to enter the booth. Our party's leader BB Batra even made a video of minister entering the booth. We have given it to the Returning Officer. Yet, no action has been taken. We have lodged a strong protest", Hooda added.

Complaints about malfunctioning EVMs poured in from several places of the national capital on Sunday where voting is underway, news agency PTI reported.
Delhi CEO Ranbir Singh said 5.5 per cent EVMs were replaced in the morning, adding that problems in EVMs were reported from Chandni Chowk and West Delhi.
"BJP workers are moving around in a polling booth in Sangam Vihar in BJP scarves, a person voted 4 times. We identified 8-10 such ppl and caught one red-handed. Ramesh Bidhuri(BJP candidate) is losing badly so is indulging in such tactics," AAP South Delhi candidate Raghav Chadha said.
A voter turnout of 39.16 per cent was recorded till 2 pm in ten Lok Sabha seats of Haryana on Sunday, with Kurukshetra and Hisar constituencies witnessing brisk polling, news agency PTI reported.
Polling began Sunday at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm in the 10 parliamentary constituencies which are going to polls in a single phase.

Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar, Modi added, “Since the time our government was elected in Kashmir, there’s a ‘cleaning operation’ every other day. This is a part of my job.” He said it was surprising to note that the opposition parties were saying that elections were on and the security forces were opening fire at militants, news agency PTI reported. According to data compiled from PTI, the poll percentage for West Bengal till 11 am was 37.97; Haryana recorded 22.87 per cent voter turnout in the first four hours; in Madhya Pradesh the polling percentage was 20.93 till 11 am; Delhi recorded 20.37 per cent of voting; in Bihar, voting per cent recorded till 11 am was 21.52.
The voting percentage in Uttar Pradesh was 34.92 till 1 pm.
Australia's Envoy to India, Harinder Sidhu in Delhi praised the 'well organised' Election Commission for the smooth conducting of the Lok Sabha elections.
"It's been a really inspiring experience. How can you get so many people to voting? Answer is well-organised EC and its officials. It's a good system and organised. I'm really impressed with EVMs, we don't have those in Australia. I think even with paper ballots which we have in Australia, it's always a case where there's a risk to integrity in any system. VVPAT is actually a good development," she was quoted as saying to ANI.

Sporadic incidents of violence has been reported from Ghatal and Jhargram Lok Sabha seats soon after polls for the sixth phase began in West Bengal. In Keshpur, BJP candidate Bharati Ghosh was gheraoed by villagers when she went to a booth. Ghosh's security resorted to baton charge following which locals lobbed stones injuring one of her security guards. Ghosh's car was ransacked. The incident took place around 8 am.
Meanwhile, in Jhargram a BJP worker Ramen Singh (46) was allegedly attacked by TMC workers at Beliabera village in Gopiballavpur. Singh was taken to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead. TMC leaders have denied the allegations. The incident took place around midnight.

The average poll percentage for eight Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal has been recorded at 16.66 per cent.
The average poll percentage for 14 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh has been recorded at 9.28 per cent.
Tripura repolls register a 14.79 per cent voter turnout till 9 am while West Bengal records a voter turnout of 16.66 per cent. The average poll percentage for Uttar Pradesh has been 9.28 per cent, and in Bihar 8.30 per cent voting was recorded by 9 am.

Over 1.8 crore voters will decide the fate of 223 candidates on Sunday. A total of 19, 441 polling stations have been set up in Haryana, in which 5,510 polling stations are there in urban areas and 13,931 in rural areas. The voters will exercise their franchise for all ten Lok Sabha constituencies including two reserved seats; Ambala and Sirsa. The polling will take place from 7 am to 6 pm. According to Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Rajiv Ranjan, apart from State Police, 95 companies of Central Armed Police Forces, home guards and special police forces have been deployed.
Eight Lok Sabha constituencies spread across five districts in West Bengal will go to polls in the sixth phase election on Sunday. In this phase, polling will be held in Jangalmahal area spread across Bankura, West Midnapore, Jhargram and Purulia districts — a former Maoist hotbed in the state during the erstwhile Left Front government. The sixth phase of election in 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday will seal the fate of political heavyweights like SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Union minister Maneka Gandhi, state cabinet minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi among others. The 14 seats, all in eastern Uttar Pradesh, are Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Phulpur, Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Shrawasti, Domariyaganj, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Lalganj, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Machhlishahr and Bhadohi.
