However, some of his supporters who were still hopeful of his candidature faced disappointment when BJP officially dropped him off of their Lok Sabha list and instead fielded his son Karan Bhusan Singh from the same seat. Not long after SP also announced Ram Bhagat Mishra as their Lok Sabha candidate from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat. Notably, although announced on the same day, BSP was the first to name their candidate from Kaiserganj, when they named Narendra Pandey as their Lok Sabha candidate.

Since 2023, the speculation of Kaiserganj’s sitting MP losing his seat in the sexual harassment case has been high. The speculation became reality when the BJP officially dropped him and instead named his Son Karan Bhusan Singh as their candidate from the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 General Elections. Following his father’s 12-year tenure as the state body’s head, Karan was named president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association in February 2024. Karan also served as the association’s vice president for eight years before becoming the president.

As soon as the BJP announced their candidate from Kaiserganj Lok Sabha, SP also announced Ram Bhagat Mishra as their Lok Sabha candidate. Mishra was earlier part of the Congress party but left them to join the BJP. In 2023, he again left BJP and joined SP, before eventually becoming their 2024 Lok Sabha election candidate.

Narendra Pandey (BSP)

Even before BJP and SP, it was BSP who first revealed the name of their Lok Sabha Candidate from Kaiserganj, when they announced the name of Narendra Pandey. Pandey’s candidature is a strong indication of BSP that they are not playing on the back foot and will also look to influence a large group of voters in their favour by naming Narendra Pandey as their candidate.
