A recent poll conducted by the Democratic firm Bendixen & Amandi reveals shifting dynamics in the 2024 presidential race.

According to the survey, Vice President Kamala Harris and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton currently have a better chance against former President Donald Trump than President Joe Biden.

A recent poll reveals a tight race between Trump and Biden, with Trump leading by a single percentage point (43% to 42%). However, when paired against Trump, Harris and Clinton fare slightly better, with Harris leading 42% to 41% and Clinton leading 43% to 41%.

Interestingly, a hypothetical Clinton-Harris ticket appears to have a slight advantage over the current Biden-Harris pairing, with a 43% to 40% lead over Trump, as reported by The Independent.

The survey also found that among the 86% of likely voters who watched part of the June 27 debate between Biden and Trump, only 29% believe Biden has the stamina and mental capacity for another term, while 61% do not.

Amidst growing speculation about President Biden’s health, a memo to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has sparked further controversy.

The memo comes on the heels of a heated press briefing where Jean-Pierre categorically denied that Biden has been diagnosed with or is receiving treatment for Parkinson’s disease.

The denial came in response to questions about Dr. Lawrence Cannard, a movement disorders specialist, visiting the White House multiple times.

Despite the denial, a recent poll shows that only 33% of respondents believe Biden should continue as the Democratic nominee, while 52% think he should step down.

The controversy surrounding Biden’s health and potential neurological issues continues to swirl, fueling debates about his fitness for office.

Fernand Amandi, the veteran Miami based  pollster behind the survey, emphasized the growing concerns among voters regarding Biden’s fitness for office.

“Voters have significant concerns about President Biden’s advanced age, and their concerns have only grown louder,” Amandi said. He added, “But these concerns have not yet created a decisive advantage for Trump.”

The survey also highlighted concerns about Biden’s stamina and mental capacity.

Out of 86% of likely voters who watched the recent debate between Biden and Trump, only 29% believe Biden has the necessary stamina and mental acuity for another term, while 61% disagree.

This has led to a stark division within the Democratic Party, with 52% of respondents believing Biden should step aside and only 33% supporting his continued candidacy.

In contrast, the hypothetical Clinton-Harris ticket appears to be more appealing to voters.

Amandi said, “Clinton-Harris is in the strongest position among potential Democratic tickets tested, showing a clear edge over the Biden-Harris pairing.”

The survey results reflect a notable shift in voter sentiment, potentially reshaping the Democratic strategy as the 2024 election approaches.
