Trump says it is a ‘great honour’ to host European leaders ahead of Ukraine talks

Trump is due to first meet Zelenskyy, followed by talks with leaders of Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, the European Union and NATO.

US President Donald Trump on Monday said it was a “great honour” for America to host European leaders at the White House, ahead of his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over Russia’s war in Ukraine.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote: “A big day at the White House. We have never had so many European Leaders here at one time. A great honor for America!! Let’s see what the results will be.”

Trump is due to first meet Zelenskyy, followed by talks with leaders of Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, the European Union and NATO.

The meetings come only days after Trump’s discussions in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

US Vice President JD Vance, who was also present during Trump’s February meeting with Zelenskyy that ended in a sharp exchange, is expected to take part in Monday’s talks, a source briefed on the matter said.
