Bec McColl, an Australian tourist, has caught the internet’s attention for hailing the food delivery service on trains in India. McColl documented her experience, calling it the “coolest thing ever”.
In a viral Instagram reel, the woman is seen seated in her seat on a moving train, describing how convenient it is to order food in India. Holding a slice of pizza in her hand, she says, “India is so cool. I just ordered pizza and French fries on a train that is moving, and the delivery driver actually met me on the train. How sick is that? That is so cool.”
She captioned it, “Dude, this is actually the coolest thing ever.” A text overlay on the video adds, “India is ahead of the times when it comes to this.”

The video quickly gained traction, amassing over six lakh views. Several Instagram users applauded McColl for showing the country’s bright side. “India is very very cool ..only thing foreigners need to do is keep their budget more than $20,” a user wrote. “Welcome! We ain’t as bad as the media portrays us, spend a little, luxury is not expensive here, also ensures a bit of safety. Happy to have you with us! Enjoy,” another user commented.
“This gives me mixed feelings. On one side, I’m feeling proud by foreigner’s compliment to India. But also I know this was only possible because of cheap human labor and gross overpopulation,” a third user argued.
Railways collaborates with several third-party services, including Swiggy and Zomato, and runs its e-catering portal for food delivery services on trains. This allows travellers to order food from the official IRCTC eCatering website or app or partner websites and apps by entering their PNR or train number. Food orders are delivered to the traveller’s seat at a selected station.
