Trump said that the United States could "easily" get a deal done and end the conflict between both the warring sides. (Photo/AP)United States President Donald Trump, on Saturday (June 14), vehemently denied any involvement in the recent strike on Iran, stating that Washington had no role to play in the conflict.
He further issued a stern warning to Iran that any retaliatory action against the United States would be met with unprecedented force.
“The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” he said in a post on his Truth Social handle.
He also said that the United States could “easily get a deal done” and end the conflict between the warring sides.
“However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict,” he added.
Earlier, Trump had issued a warning to Iran following Israeli airstrikes on Iranian military sites, stating that the 60-day deadline for a new nuclear agreement had elapsed.
“Iran must make a deal before there is nothing left… Just do it, before it is too late,” he wrote in a post on his Truth Social handle.
In an interview with ABC News, he also called the Israeli strike on Iran “excellent”, threatening that “there’s more to come. A lot more.”
Israeli strikes hit key oil, energy sites in Tehran, triggering fires and panic
Israel’s fresh missile salvo hit several major energy facilities in and around Tehran on Saturday, igniting fires and triggering widespread panic among residents.
The attacks targeted Iran’s Shahran fuel and gasoline depot in the north of the capital and the Shahr Rey oil refinery in the south, according to Iran’s oil ministry and state media reports.
“The fire is terrifying, it’s massive; there is a lot of commotion here,” Mostafa Shams, a resident of Shahran, told The New York Times. “It’s the gasoline depots that are exploding one after another; it’s loud and scary.”
According to Israeli defence officials, warplanes also struck locations in Tehran linked to Iran’s nuclear programme, including experimental research labs.
