Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to address a joint sitting of the US Congress during his trip to Washington DC later this month. The US Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, extended an invitation to the Indian PM to address a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and Senate on June 22, touted to be one of the highest honors Washington affords to foreign dignitaries. The theme of the address will revolve around Modi's vision for India's future and the global challenges faced by the two countries. US President Joe Biden is scheduled to host PM Modi at the White House for the latter's maiden state visit to the US between June 21-24. Though PM Modi has toured the US multiple times earlier in his tenure, this will be his first 'state visit' since he assumed office in 2014. This will be the fourth meeting between Biden and Modi in a month.
