Hamas, Yemen’s Houthis, others mourn Hezbollah chief’s death, vow continued resistance against Israel

Hamas

Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, mourned Nasrallah’s death and reaffirmed its solidarity with Hezbollah in their shared struggle against Israel.

In a statement, Hamas emphasised that the “crimes and assassination by the occupation will only increase the determination and the insistence of the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon to go forward with all their might, bravery and pride on the footsteps of the martyrs… and pursue the path of resistance until victory and the dismissal of the occupation.”

Islamic Jihad, an Iranian-backed Palestinian group, issued a statement saying, “Sooner or later, the resistance forces in Lebanon, Palestine, and the region will make the enemy pay for its crimes and experience defeat for the actions of its sinful hands.”

Houthi

The Houthi movement in Yemen, an Iran-backed ally of Hezbollah, also expressed its condolences and vowed to “grow stronger and bigger” in their resistance against Israel.

“The resistance will not be broken, and the Jihadist spirit of the Mujahideen brothers in Lebanon and on all fronts of support will grow stronger and bigger,” the group said in a statement.

The group has repeatedly launched attacks on ships in the Red Sea and Israel itself in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Iran

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the killing of Hezbollah leader Nasrallah, stating it would “strengthen the resistance” and accused the United States of complicity.

Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Javad Zarif praised Nasrallah as a symbol of the fight against oppression, while Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called Israel’s actions “short-sighted.”

Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Shia leader Muqtada al-Sadr both declared three days of mourning, with Sudani labelling the attack a “shameful crime.”

Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also condemned Israel’s actions, calling for global intervention to stop its “genocide and occupation” in Lebanon.
