Two people were killed and 12 others were injured after a shooting broke out between two groups in a crowded nightlife area of Alabama’s capital city late on Saturday, police said. Montgomery Police Chief James Graboys said officers were called around 11:30 p.m. to what he described as a “mass shooting.” Three of the injured were in hospital with life-threatening wounds, he said, according to the Associated Press (AP). “This was two parties involved that were basically shooting at each other in the middle of a crowd,” Graboys told reporters. “The shooters did not care about the people around them when they did it.” Police said they were reviewing evidence and speaking to potential suspects, though no arrests had been made by early Sunday. “We will do everything we need to gather every bit of evidence to chase down whoever is involved,” Graboys said, as reported by AP.
