Ending months of speculation about her relationship with with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, Katy Perry has shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram from their trip to Japan.
The 41-year-old pop star posted a carousel on Instagram showing the pair smiling closely for a selfie and trying sushi together in Tokyo. Captioning the post, she wrote: “Tokyo times on tour and more.” Perry is in Japan as part of her global Lifetimes Tour.
Rumours about the pair have been circulating for months, with multiple sightings of them together. Trudeau, 53, was spotted attending one of Perry’s concerts earlier this year, prompting further talk of a romance.
Earlier this week, Trudeau also appeared to acknowledge the relationship publicly, reposting a photo on X of the pair with former Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko.
Writing on X, he said: “Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”

Last month, the pair were photographed holding hands at an event in Paris on Perry’s 41st birthday, seemingly confirming their relationship. TMZ published images showing Trudeau helping Perry into a car as photographers called out to them.
During a tour stop in London, Perry even appeared to hint at her new relationship. After a fan proposed from the audience, she quipped: “I wish you’d asked me 48 hours ago.” The remark came just days after photographs of her and Trudeau first surfaced online.
Perry previously spent a decade with actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter. They separated over the summer. Trudeau split from his wife Sophie Grégoire in 2023 after 18 years of marriage; the former couple share three children.
Neither Perry nor Trudeau have commented formally on their relationship, but their posts and appearances are drawing global attention.
