The woman took to X to share a message she received from a prospective landlord who informed her that she has been shortlisted for his house. People living in Bengaluru have often described how it is a laborious task to find a house on rent. Netizens have often shared that it is easier to land a job in the IT hub of the country than it is to meet the requirements of landlords.
A woman by the name Ishu (@DimpledJalebi) took to X to share a message she received from a prospective landlord who informed her that she has been shortlisted for his house.
“Hi, it was a pleasure to meet both of you on that day. As I mentioned during our meeting, I’ve been personally meeting with those who have expressed their interest in the property. While I haven’t had the chance to meet with everyone yet, I have formed a reasonable idea of who among them would be best appreciate and maintain the premises. Among my shortlist, I would like to extend the first offer to both of you,” the message read. Then it also went on to share the terms.
“#PeakBengaluru moment happened when we got selected after an apparent interview with the house owner,” Ishu wrote on X.

Reacting to the post, netizens shared their experiences of house hunt. “My Landlord asked me to submit my work Id card along with my bank statements,” a user commented. “This is very typical… People
shortlist based on the company you work for as well. I’m not kidding,” another person wrote.
“Congratulations on being considered worthy of his flat,” said a third. “You are late to this party. This started as part of post COVID mass return of people to Bengaluru. Now, even getting a job in the city is relatively easier than getting a house. Having both in the city is a privilege,” said a fourth.
