The internet is often flooded with clips of cab drivers and passengers clashing over cancelled rides or misunderstandings. Now, a new video is reminding people that simple respect can completely change how such moments unfold.
In the now-viral video, the cab driver says he arrived at the location after covering 2.5 km and waited nearly 10 minutes for his customer, only to learn that they’d already booked another ride. He says instead of walking away, the passengers approached him, explained the situation, and handed him Rs 100 for the trouble.
When he asks them why they’re giving him the money, they respond, “Rakh lo, aapka bhi petrol kharch hua hai (Keep it, you spent the fuel). To this, the driver says, “Chalo koi itna toh samajhta hai (At least someone understands this).”
The wholesome moment has struck a chord online, with the video crossing over five lakh views on X.
In the comments, people have been sharing their thoughts.
One user wrote, “A great gesture by the customer but many times the cab driver who is the main culprit accepts and rejects.”
Another commented, “This hundred rupees covers the expenses but his understanding covers the soul….That’s the perfect way to end a difficult situation…. Most of the time, we just drive away with a Sorry but his thoughtfulness is truly rare. Thank you for setting a great example.”
A third user said, “Respect to the customer for acknowledging the drivers time and effort. A small gesture but it means a lot. We need more such understanding in daily life.”
Someone else added, “To be honest, this feels more like a duty than an act of kindness. He actually came all the way to pick you up & wasted 10 mins of his working hours. Its our ignorance that we don’t understand this.”
