Monkeys ‘rob’ US vlogger in Kodaikanal, video sparks laughter riot: ‘Complain this to nearby dog station’

A US-based vlogger, popular as Free Spirit Traveler on social media, was recently ambushed by a bunch of unusual “robbers”, who made away with a chocolate cake, oranges, and other food items. “Get back, get back,” the vlogger yelled as several monkeys stole his food while he was exploring the narrow lanes of Kodaikanal, a hill station in Tamil Nadu.

A video of the incident, which is doing the rounds on social media, begins with a scooter parked on the roadside. Several monkeys can be seen wandering around the two-wheeler, some running away after stealing a chocolate cake and oranges. “I just got robbed in India bro! I had a whole chocolate cake I was saving. They took all my oranges. Who would have thought man!” the vlogger says.

Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, which goes by the name @vanboys222, the vlogger wrote, “I Got ROBBED in India. can’t believe these guys got me, I was saving that chocolate cake & oranges for tonight now I’m hungry.”

The video quickly gained traction, amusing several social media users. “Bro its india. India is for humans, and for animals, birds, and even for nature. A state of india Tamil Nadu peoples were so Emotional they touched the shore and were so Emotional while they welcome the Holy River Kaveri,” an Instagram user wrote. “Complain this to the near by dog station they will handle it,” another user joked.

“Hahaha. First thing you learn driving a scooter in Asia. No bags on the scooter. Don’t carry food or drinks. Mind your glasses,” a third user reacted.

In March, a video of a British tourist’s encounter with a group of monkeys at a hotel in Thailand went viral. The video showed animals invading the swimming pool where the tourist was relaxing.
