Forest officials have successfully reunited a baby elephant with her mother at the Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. The calf was discovered wandering alone, desperately searching for her mother.

Dedicated field teams swiftly responded to a distress call, employed advanced technology such as drones and leveraged the expertise of seasoned forest watchers. The coordinated efforts led to the location of the elephant herd, ensuring a safe and joyous reunion for the separated calf.

Chief Conservator of Forests Ramasubramanian and officials Bhargava Teja and Manikantan played a pivotal role in the successful operation.

The reunited calf continued her journey alongside her mother and the herd, under the watchful eyes of the forest teams who remained on the ground for monitoring. Later the elephant calf was seen sleeping in its mother’s arms soundly. The video has received positive feedback online.
