A man took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a photo of an IndiGo flight in which a cushion was missing from his wife’s allotted seat.
Subrat Patnaik was travelling from Pune to Nagpur on November 26 along with his wife Sagarika, who was assigned the seat number 10A. The allotted window seat was missing its cushion.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, when his wife raised the issue with the cabin crew, they instructed her to search for the cushion under her seat. However, upon looking under the seat, she was still unable to find it.
The situation was causing inconvenience to other passengers as well who were boarding as his wife was standing in the aisle. Upon raising the matter again with the cabin crew, they arranged for a spare cushion, which was brought over by a ground staff member who placed it on the seat.
“#Indigo !! #Flight 6E 6798 !! Seat no 10A ! Pune to Nagpur!!! Today’s status … Best way to increase profit…Pathetic …,” Patnaik wrote on X.

IndiGo replied to the post and said it is “certainly not good to see”.
“Hi, that’s certainly not good to see. At times, the seat cushion gets adrift from its Velcro. The same can be repositioned with the help of our crew. Further, your feedback will be shared with the concerned team for review. Hope to serve you better in the future,” it wrote.

“Hi, appreciate ur response. But surprise that how this missed by ground staff as well as the crew to check the cleaning status before boarding? This is affecting the image of a great brand like Indigo,” Patnaik wrote in another tweet.

“May be its a trial. Sooner or later Indigo may start charging 250-500 for cushions,” a user commented. “Just wait some time they will charge to for using washroom also,” said another. “Indigo being indigo. I believe they are also downgrading their brand with such issues and i dont think, they are low cost carrier. They are equally charging. I always think twice before booking indigo,” another person wrote.
