Rishabh Pant’s lively personality was on full display once again during the second Test between India and New Zealand in Pune—not just through his skills but also his humour behind the stumps. In the 78th over, as Washington Sundar prepared to bowl to New Zealand’s Ajaz Patel, Pant, the wicketkeeper, offered some advice: “Washi, aage daal sakte hai, thoda bahar daal sakta hai,” suggesting Sundar bowl a fuller delivery.

Sundar followed Pant’s suggestion, but to everyone’s surprise, Patel seized the opportunity and sent the ball to the boundary for four. In classic Pant style, he couldn’t help but react, “Yaar mereko kya pata issey Hindi aati hai,” leaving everyone in splits. Captured by the stump mic, Pant’s quick wit added a memorable, light-hearted moment to the match.
