IPLThe Indian Premier League (IPL) season 17 is underway, having started on March 22.

This year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) has brought along its share of hilarious social media moments featuring the teams and their captains. One such viral hit is a parody skit poking fun at how different IPL players might react to their Swiggy deliveries.

The skit features a group of guys sporting hilarious wigs and jerseys that mimic famous cricketers. The mastermind behind this side-splitting creation is Jagyot Singh, who shared it on his official Instagram handle, @aapkajags.!

He imitates the actions of Mumbai Indians new captain Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma when they get the Swiggy order, akin to the viral video that showed Pandya directing former MI captain Sharma while fielding, an act which the fans perceived it as Pandya’s disrespect towards Sharma. Even in the case of placing a Swiggy order, the creator replicates this scenario.

Following that, he takes on the persona of Rishabh Pant from Delhi Capitals. In this skit, the parody version of Pant answers the door to receive his Swiggy order, and the delivery person enquires about his well-being in light of Pant’s injury making headlines. The parody Pant responds in Hindi, which roughly translates to, “Earlier, I couldn’t pick up and carry the parcel on my own, but now I can do that and even hit the ball outside the ground.”

Watch the video below:

The third cricketer to receive the delivery is Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli, and the delivery agent poses the iconic question, “Will RCB win this year?” Kohli responds, “The women’s team won, right?” To which the agent suggests, “Sir, maybe the men’s team this time?” Kohli replies, “Haan Haan jeet jayengey,” which translates to, “yes yes, we will win.”

The fourth parody, arguably the highlight of the series, features M S Dhoni from Chennai Super Kings. In this segment, every detail, from the hair wig to the jersey, and even the voice, closely resembles that of the actual player, drawing considerable attention from netizens. Upon opening the door to collect his Swiggy order, the delivery agent is astonished and asks, “Sir, aap abhi yahi ho? (Sir, are you still here?)” The character’s response is priceless. In character, Dhoni remarks, “You know 7 is my lucky number. Abhi do baar aur trophy jeetna hai (I have to win the trophy two more times).” Then, the delivery agent quips, “Toh aap chor ke nahi jaogey? (So, you won’t leave then?)” To which the actor ‘Dhoni’ confidently asserts, “Definitely not.”

IPL The video crossed 6 lakh views on Instagram.

The video concludes with Gautam Gambhir‘s character. Here, the Swiggy delivery agent asks, “Sir, can I ask you something?” and Gambhir’s character responds with a “hmm.” The question in Hindi is, “Is there burger or fries in your meal?” With a very serious demeanour, Gambhir replies, “Daal chawal (rice and lentils),” and promptly shuts the door.
