The woman’s words were laced with tenderness. “We were just helping each other deal with life and the changes thrown at us, he was completing his MBBS while me just starting it. 8 months later, the week of Valentine’s with so much going on in college, I had just joked about how sad my life is so I will just say yes to the guy who asks me out just for kicks. It was a hint thrown at him by me which even I realised only retrospectively,” she wrote.

The next few lines read, “By 13th of February 2003 we were aware that one of us would be asked out by the next day and what if the joke turns real?! We just couldn’t bear the thought of it so just confessed our feelings to each other and sealed it on the 13th, and the next day we had the cheesy love coffee at CCD we thought we never would.”

An X user wrote, “I’m reminded of a dialogue from the movie Qarib Qarib Single, Saath saath jeene-marne wali love story nahin thi, but love story nonetheless. Hope you guys reunite someday on the other side. All the best.” Another said, “t’s beautiful life and may god bless you only the happiest memories on you ..he is always with you.”

A third user commented, “It’s beautiful to see how love can transcend time, continue to hold a special place, even (especially) after a loss. Kudos to you for sharing a personal and meaningful memory.”
