‘I’ve been bitten, help’: Man walks into hospital in Rajasthan with snake in his backpack

In a bizarre incident, a young man walked into the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) hospital in Jaipur carrying the very snake that had bitten him alive and sealed inside his bag. The incident was recorded by hospital staffers and is now viral across social media.

According to a report in NDTV, the man managed to capture the snake after it bit him and brought it to the hospital in a backpack. When he arrived at the emergency ward, he opened his bag and revealed the snake, triggering panic among staff and other patients.

The viral video shows the man taking out the snake from his backpack with a smile on his face. When asked by an onlooker if the snake had bitten him, he calmly replied, “Yes.” He goes on to show the reptile to the doctor and then returns it to the bag. Other onlookers quickly maintain a distance from the scene out of fear.

The report stated that the hospital team quickly admitted him for treatment and ensured the snake was safely secured before being rescued. Authorities have yet to officially identify the species or determine whether the snake was venomous.

A similar incident occurred in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district in October 2024. A 48-year-old man from Mirachak village was bitten by a Russell’s viper. He grabbed the snake and carried it to the emergency ward of the hospital.

In 2018, a man in Odisha brought a dead snake to the hospital after being bitten. He asked the doctors to identify it to determine if it was venomous. According to reports, he had killed the snake after the bite and carried it with him to the emergency room.
