Indians never fails to surprise, and a latest viral video proves the saying “India is not for beginners” all over again. In a bizarre bid for online fame, a man was caught on camera taking a full-fledged bath inside a moving train’s coach.

The clip shows the man, identified as Pramod Shriwas, calmly lathering himself with soap in the train’s corridor, with a bucket and mug placed neatly beside him. The incident reportedly took place aboard a train stationed at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.

Completely unfazed by fellow passengers watching and filming him, Shriwas went about his routine as though he were in his bathroom at home. Later, he admitted that the act was a deliberate attempt to “gain popularity by creating a reel,” NDTV reported.

The North Central Railway shared the video on X, confirming that the man’s identity had been established. “It has been admitted by this individual that such an act was done to gain popularity by creating a reel. Legal action is being taken against the aforementioned individual by the RPF,” officials wrote.

Railway authorities have since issued a stern reminder to passengers, asking them not to misuse trains for social media stunts or disrupt others during travel. “North Central Railway requests all passengers not to engage in any such act that is inappropriate and also inconvenient for other passengers,” the statement added.

The video has sparked a mix of outrage and disbelief online. One user wrote, “RIP to civic sense,” while another commented, “Try doing this in Japan or Europe. He will be behind bars and pay a hefty fine.” Others linked the act to broader social issues, with a user remarking, “Side effects of heavy unemployment. India mei no one talks a word about unemployment, lack of educational and medical infrastructure.”

Another viewer demanded strict action: “Please take immediate and strict action so that no one dares to repeat such behavior. It is clear that people have lost their civic sense, only because they believe they can act without facing any consequences.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Indian Railways has made headlines for passengers’ unusual antics. Not long ago, an image went viral showing someone hanging freshly washed clothes on a utility rack inside a general coach – proof that some travelers still treat trains as their personal space.
