Viral video shows man’s reckless stunt on moving SUV along Solan-Shimla highway, sparks outrage

In a disturbing incident in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla, a man was seen on camera performing a reckless stunt while driving along a narrow, winding stretch of the Solan-Shimla highway. The video, shared by X user Rattan Dhillon, has since sparked outrage on social media.

The viral clip, recorded from another vehicle, shows the man in a yellow shirt recklessly standing at the front door on the driver’s side of an SUV as it moves along the highway amid other cars. As the camera got closer, it appeared that no one was controlling the SUV, posing a serious threat to the lives of other commuters on the busy highway. Sharing the video, Dhillon wrote, “New day, new low people like this keep pushing the limits. Hope Himachal Police finally decides to make an example out of someone.”

The video quickly gained traction, garnering nearly 30,000 views and sparking backlash against the man.

Sharing a similar incident, one user wrote, “That day is not far when tourism industry in India will face the heat. Hooliganism, eve teasing, abusive language, road rage and other stuff. In Himachal, I have never felt safe with family.”

“I remember during my last visit to Kasauli, a couple overtook us rashly. They stopped a car by blocking its way. Got out and thrashed the guy in front of his wife and a toddler right in the middle of the road,” the person added.

Another user commented, “I don’t know how he is driving the car in this position, seriously endangering himself and everyone around, in the car and outside. He should be instantly jailed.”

The incident comes three days after a man was seen lying on the bonnet of a moving SUV while another person leaned out of the car’s sunroof. According to reports, the incident occurred in Manali’s Atal Tunnel.
